An Introduction

The Natraj Natya Sansthan, when it began in 1986, was amateur theatre group, founded by Sunita Singh, Sunil Singh & Sanjeev Singh. A small group with three actors’s, was registered in 1989-90, under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act 28 of 1958 by Government of Rajasthan in the heart of Sun City, which is called Jodhpur.

The moving spirit behind the sansthans activities is the renound theatre actress Sunita Singh and Author/Director Sanjeev Singh. After spending 24 years, the sansthan’s ambition want to start a new venture in 2012 in the field of performing arts by the name of “NATYAKRITI”.

Natyakriti a training institute will become the creative heaven within which studies and trainings at all levels and artistic aspirations in innovative art & technology, design & media will be supported via cutting edge research & development and productions all of them realized through global education inspiring individuality and self discovery. Also publishing a new monthly magazine based on theatrical art & culture, including Dance, Drama & Music, which edited by Vandana Singh, a renowned TV producer & anchor.

The Natraj Natya Sansthan has toured out of Rajasthan many times and participated in different functions & festivals. The group was also participated National School of Drama Acting Workshop & Production Oriented Workshop, under the guidance of well known eminent personalities from Indian Theater such as Sh. Bhanu, Bhatri, Uttara Baoker, P. Subba Rao, Maya Krishna Rao, Reeta G. Kothari, Vageesh Kumar Singh, Partho Banerjee, Suresh Sharma & Hema Singh, and has been worked on different phases of theatrical elements by performing styles. Some of the experimental productions are HEMLET by Maya Rao, ‘PRAKATYA’ Directed by Bhanu Bhanti and “Duvidha” by Reeta G. Kothari (experimental acted story).

The Natraj Natya Sansthan has been started our new wing in 1994 in the field of Rajasthani Folk, art & culture with renowned folk dancer Vijay Laxmi Ameta & Mahesh Ameta a vocalist & puppeteer, the group has given several performances in India & Abroad and highly appreciated by Indian and foreign audience. The main folk performances are, Tera Taal, Bhavai, Tribal Dance, Kalbelia & Ghoomar and has programmes on every religious occasions for every change of seasons and for every harvest.

Over the years The Natraj Natya Sansthan has presented many of Indian plays, and many more other activities including cultural shows, musical nights, college events, competition acting workshops & puppetry workshop by the help of Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy, Jodhpur & Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi. The Natraj Natya Sansthan has presented many performances in past and they were highly applauded by the audience and high personalities, from different fields.

The Sansthan was participated in prestigious Rajasthan State level Drama Festival in “Om Shivpuri Drama Festival also”. With there play Shanti Kee Talash Main. Some of Sansthan’s major production Bhavishya Kee Neev, Jeewan Kya Hai, Shanti Kee Talash Main Ashaad Ka Ek Din Yayati Nai Subah, Under Secretary (Hindi plays) and associations are Dil Ki Dukaan, Rakt Beez, Sanjog, Bhriguvash, Kriti Vikriti Kove Ki Chonch Mai Angoor, Baazi, etc.

After completion of children acting workshop there was Peela Haathi & Khoj, experimental children plays written & directed by Sanjeev Singh Pagal was highly appreciated by theatre workers & audience, apart from these there was enigma 94, Hobsan 94 & Bye Bye 94 was the biggest event (Enter Colleges Meet) by Sansthan’s, the Hon’ble guest H.H. Maharaja Gaj Singh Ji and other personalities.

Today The Natraj Natya Sansthan, a group has 12 regular performers and can engaged other actor’s for production, also provides a wide platform for upcoming talented artists from different fields.

Sanjeev Singh, (known as Sanjeev Singh Pagal ) author/director has experimented with various styles of performances and used a variety of spaces, when dealing with such awarded plays. Bhavishya Ki Neev, Jeewan Kya Hai & Shanti Ki Talaash Main, has been performed in different forms of theatre. Costume & stage design has also been used to annotate the theme of the plays and to highlight primeval conflicts. Innovative style has very skillfully blended the Hindi theater’s methodology with his Drama Style; having mastered the presentation of new style in theatre was highly appreciated by eminent theatre workers & personalities. He was widened and enriched the repertoire of Hindi drama by giving new compositions in his plays.
